In Memorium:-

It is with great sadness to report that Carol Longman passed away on Monday evening 5th November 2018. After a long illness Carol passed away peacefully in Tapping House Norfolk Hospice with Ray, Emma (daughter) and Matthew (son) present at her side. Carol was a KL Ramblers committee member and Thursday and Saturday Walks Coordinator along with Ray. We will all miss her contributions to the Ramblers and she will be sadly missed by all.

A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at St Peters Church, Weasenham St Peter PE32 2TF at 14:00 on Monday 26th November 2018, followed by refreshments at the Fox and Hounds, Weasenham St Peter. All are very welcome – dress code casual, no black, no flowers – any donations are welcome to Norfolk Hospice Tapping House.

God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be,
He wrapped his arm around you
And whispered ‘Come to me’

So keep your arms around her, Lord
And give her special care,
Make up for all she suffered
And all that seemed unfair.

Rest in peace Carol.

Apology and Correction:-

West Norfolk Walkaway 4, Walk 9 Holme Hale and North Pickenham

It has been brought to our attention that some wording in the instructions for this walk may suggest that there is public access to Houghton Springs.  We would like to emphasise this is not the case.  If you hold a copy of our booklet, please amend it (page 19, point 2) by deleting the sentence beginning “Immediately opposite … on the lakes.”, and in the following sentence, delete the words “does not include this diversion but”.  Holders of OS maps (both hard copy and for GPS) may see that a path to Houghton Springs is indicated as a public footpath, but this an error, corrected in later versions.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused by walkers who sought to access Houghton Springs as a result of the wording in our instructions.
